The harp seal, also known as saddleback seal, is a species of ice seal found in the North Atlantic and Arctic Oceans. Named for the harp-like pattern on its coat, it is characterized by its silvery-gray fur with dark patches and black eyes. These seals are known for their annual migrations and the formation of large breeding colonies on sea ice, where they give birth to pups.
